Andreas Bhagwani, CEO

Equipped with an MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics, Andreas stands out as an individual with a strong commercial background. His successful consulting career in business intelligence has provided him with invaluable experience that he has leveraged to start Wide Narrow, a company specializing in structured intelligence. He then moved on to management consulting, balancing several positions in the Avant Group but mainly focusing on implementing sales strategies. Apart from his consulting career, Andreas is involved in ventures related to golf, real estate and consumer products, pursuing his interests keenly, to the extent of sitting on the board of a leisure and travel company.

Alfonso Garcia-Bennett, Founding partner, Head of Research and Development

Dr Garcia-Bennett is the author of numerous research papers on nanomaterials in world leading journals, and a leading expert in the design, preparation and characterization of nanoporous materials by electron microscopy. Dr Garcia-Bennett participates in research projects in the UK, Japan and Sweden, from applied and academic perspectives. He leads an active research group in the area of porous materials at the department of Nanotechnology and Functional Materials, Uppsala University, where he is currently Assistant Professor. Dr Garcia-Bennett’s research was the catalyst for the formation of Nanologica AB, and he has headed the Research and Development efforts since the company was founded in 2004. He is the innovator behind 6 patents.

Roberto Hanoi Labrador Montero, Project Manager & Production Manager

Dr Labrador Montero plays an active role in managing EU Projects. He also takes charge of matters pertaining to scale-up production of porous materials. He received his PhD in 2009, in the Polytechnical University of Valencia, Spain, in the field of chemical sensors design, and graduated in Chemistry from the University of Havana, Cuba in 1998. Prior to working in Nanologica, he gained extensive laboratory experience working for the Meteorological Institute of Havana, in the laboratory of Atmospheric pollution analysis. Apart from his role at Nanologica, Roberto Hanoi spends most of his free time in his greatest passions; sports, fishing and traveling.

Rambabu Atluri, Senior researcher

Dr Atluri received the prestigious Bjurzons premium (Best Thesis Award) in 2010, the same year he joined the company. Babu manages various research projects related to food and cosmetic applications, and customization of porous materials. He holds a PhD degree from the department of Engineering Sciences, Uppsala University specializing in syntheses and characterization of nanoporous silica materials. Babu also takes charge of the development of NLAB Materials, an online shop for porous materials, and helps to manage EU projects.

Moa Eklund, Project Manager & Patent Officer

Since the beginning of 2011, Moa’s organizational skills are key to the smooth operations in Nanologica. Presently, she is managing projects and quality assurance at Nanologica, as well as coordinating matters related to the company's patent portfolio. Moa holds a Master of Engineering in Biotechnology from the Faculty of Engineering at Lund University (LTH). She specialized in pharmaceutical engineering, with a main focus on drug formulation, and did her master's thesis project on the implementation of a quality management system in a small research company. She has previously been working as an analyst at Nordic Sugar, with both quality control and product development.

Erik Nilsson, Synthesist & Project Manager

Dr Nilsson joined the Nanologica team in the  beginning of 2012. As a specialist in nano materials syntheses, he plays a crucial role in the management of projects and development of materials for chromatography applications. Erik received his PhD, in the field nano materials, in 2011 from Chalmers University of Technology at the division of Applied Surface Chemistry.

Muhammad Naeem Iqbal, Lab Technician

As a lab technician, Naeem is the driving force in the synthesis and characterization of nanoporous materials. He is also involved in projects where new materials are developed for different application areas. He started out working on a masters thesis project in Nanologica at the end of 2010, where he gained sound knowledge in synthetic chemistry. He did a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Chemistry and finished his Master of Science in Material Chemistry in 2011 from Stockholm University. Prior to Nanologica, he had done industrial internships at several companies and also had taught at a Federal Government College in Pakistan on an adhoc basis.

Natalia Kupferschmidt, PhD student

As a PhD student under the supervision of Alfonso, Natalia came on board the company in October 2011. Her projects focus on the use of new materials for biomedical applications such as drug delivery systems and adjuvants for vaccine systems. Her study of the effect and efficacy of materials in biological systems involves both in vitro and in vivo experimental work. Natalia holds a Master of Science in Molecular Biology from Stockholm University (SU), Sweden, and did her master thesis in neuron physiology. She has been working with mesoporous silica materials since her time as student at Stockholm University.

Siti Aishah Zahari, Corporate Communications Liaison

Aishah started her one year internship with Nanologica in August 2011. She handles online communication affairs within the organization, as well as online marketing and public relations. Currently, she is studying her bachelors at National University of Singapore, majoring in Communications and New Media and fulfilling her entrepreneurship minor in Stockholm, taking courses in Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship. On a voluntary basis, she is part of a team organizing entrepreneurship workshops in collaboration with Stockholm Stad, tailored for gymnasium students in Stockholm.
